Meet Dr. Ronnie Kiek, PT, DPT, TPS

[pronounced Keek]

BIO

From the mountain to your door

Dr. Ronnie Kiek is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and certified Therapeutic Pain Specialist (TPS) practising in the Vail Valley. She specialises in persistent pain and longevity — two areas she believes are deeply connected — as well as orthopedic rehabilitation and sport-specific physical therapy.

Ronnie earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Colorado Mesa University, followed by her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Colorado, one of the leading DPT programmes in the country. She holds advanced certifications in Therapeutic Pain Science, Functional Dry Needling (Level I & II, with Advanced Clinical Integration), and is currently completing a Lifestyle Medicine certification through Evidence in Motion.

Before becoming a physical therapist, Ronnie spent 13 years as a professional alpine ski racer — qualifying for three World Championships (including Beaver Creek 2015), two Junior World Championships, the European Youth Olympic Games, and earning multiple international podium finishes across Europe. In 2026, she was selected as a private physical therapist for a Paralympic Winter Games athlete in Cortina, Italy — supporting injury prevention, recovery, movement analysis, and hands-on treatment at the elite level.

That athletic experience shapes everything about how she works. She understands what it means to push a body hard, to navigate injury and recovery, and to want to keep doing the things that matter — whether that's competing at a World Championship or skiing Vail on a powder day at 72.

PHILOSOPHY

How Ronnie works

Ronnie founded Valley Fix PT because she wanted to practise the way she believes care should be delivered: unhurried, thorough, and genuinely client-centred.

Every session is 90 minutes, one-on-one, and comes to you — at your home, your gym, or on the mountain. There are no waiting rooms, no double-booking, no insurance company telling her how many visits you're allowed. She intentionally limits the number of clients she sees each day so she can give every person her full attention and energy.

Her approach goes beyond treating the area that hurts. She looks at sleep, stress, nutrition, nervous system regulation, movement patterns, and lifestyle — because persistent pain and physical decline rarely have a single cause. She also believes deeply in education: the more a client understands their body, the more confident and proactive they become in their own health.

Care doesn't end when the session does. Clients have direct access to Ronnie between appointments for questions, guidance, and support — because that ongoing relationship is part of what makes the difference.

Life in the Valley

After 13 years as a professional Alpine skier, Ronnie stood on multiple international podiums in Europe. Ski racing taught her to stay determined, patient, and kind to others. Although she no longer races and is now a Doctor of Physical Therapy, skiing still plays a major part in her life. In her free time, she enjoys skiing, skinning, hiking, spending time with friends and family, and volunteering.
